Learning by Doing

I've enjoyed playing with computers for a long time... My first classes were flowcharting and basic on a Radio Shack TRS III while serving in the Army, citra 1981. After exiting the military I began writing Dungon and Dragons aids for the Commodore 64. Moving foward I bought my first IBM compatable, a hot, loaded 386-DX33 with a huge 120 Meg hard drive. It opened my eyes to the world of computers. Included in the box was a device that has shaped my world and yours too, a 2400 baud external modem. It was the best 1800.00 dollars I ever spent.

Now a holdover of the medieval era of computer communications (some twenty years gone) I miss the BBS. It was a place where I made life long friends. This hobby introduced me to a deeper understanding how this world works. How far back, it started with Dos 4 and Windows 3.0 as the Operating System and GUI. Onward to IBM OS/2, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows XP and now Windows 7.

Life changes and the BBS was a fading star, I floated to Usenet, to Telnet and IRC, to GeoCities, Yahoo and the Web.

I began building computers for my sons and helping friends. The 386 gave way to the 486, 586, the Pentum 1 through 4. This page was built on a 2.9 Hz Pentium Duo Core.

Biglizard is my place to if not master, at least keep a eye on technology that changes at an ever faster pace. It's a toybox and toehold on the technology now reshaping the world. I'll attempt to learn some code and how to make something not look like a graphical train wreck.

As to the name, I'm fond of Godzilla.

Note: Stuff Breaks

As a test site things may or may not work, this is a process, not a destnation.
