BigLizard.Org --- Site Updates
August 28, 2006 - This last month has seen little accomplished. The overtime money is great and has gone a long way in putting me on solid footing. That said, I'm tired, really tired. All things come to a end though and I'll be working on these pages soon.
July 10 2006 - Yui is done... for now. Now that I've moved into the Boat Pages (which took a while to figure out how to do them) it will be smoother sailing. However as I'm working a lot of overtime recently they will come on as they come.
June 25 2006 - A week of plugging away has 83 of the Yui pages redone.
June 18 2006 - Well, all the opinion and music lyric pages are redone. I've started with the Yui pages, they are butt ugly and the new pages not only look better, have a lot less mistakes.
May 24 2006 - I think I've got things turned around now. I had a problem with there being so many pages, I couldn't keep them straight. Looks better anyway. :)
May 8, 2006 - A blurb... It's been a while since I've updated and added to the site. You can blame EZboard for that, I had to expel the demons of chat boards. Take a look at the new Music Lyrics pages and you can see I'm back at it. In part some of it also the need to standardize my pages. My goal is to build templates.
June 26, 2005 - It's been a while since I've last updated and changed things. Between work, kids and re-painting the bike I've been busy. God knows I should have gotten back on it sooner, but I'll forgive myself the laziness and concentrate on quality, not quantity.
March 14, 2005 - I have an idea... buckle up, I'm changing lanes and reloading.
March 03, 2005 - A lot happened that didn't get commented on in the updates. FrontPage stripped out all my Meta Tags when I reloaded the site, a part of my HD upgrade. The world got a bit uglier. John has decided to take down his pages at the end of his senior year. I intended this site to be a joint project, something my son's and I could create together. It also served as a sort of tool for expanding the boys interest in the world outside of the Play station.
January 05, 2005 - Drat... a Google search reveals there already is Missouri Progressive site. For now I've decided to fold the Progressive pieces back within Biglizard. Otherwise I've been cleaning up little corners within the website.
January 01, 2005 - Additions to the Progressive links page, new music lyrics and other expanded personal pages.
December 26, 2004 Yui almost finished, new links, lyrics and essays, a good weekend.
December 22, 2004 40 Yui files and climbing, files continue to be added at a pace of 20 per day, new boat file index in process. At the finish I intend to put about 500 image files online. I've got more to do than I can do quickly, I'll recruit my oldest son to assist over the Christmas holiday.
December 19, 2004 It took a while, but I'm back on track in getting this site going. Mistakes were made, others will be blamed, the stuff will be fixed. I'm expanding my personal pages by moving music lyrics from BigLizard to there as well as new poetry pages. I talked with Joe and hope to get access to many of the old writing of my BBS days, there's a ton of stuff worth bringing back. Politics stays with MP pages.
December 17, 2004 I'm in a funk at the moment. Between my last flurry of working on the site and today little has been accomplished. In no small part this is due to four things. A knee injury and sleep problems are on the health side of this, but it's in large part more centered around other issues in life. In short I'm lonely and and my job isn't cutting it.
November 10, 2004 What a disappointment, 4 more years of Bush as the Clown in Chief. I knew the election would be tight, but I was surprised to see him win. I hope the zealots who elected him pray a lot, we are going to need all the help we can get. I've split up my efforts 3 directions this week. I've decided to actively start and promote a off-shoot of BigLizard, the Missouri Progressive Pages, I'll save my political thinking for there. I also started cleaning up Cris's files and made a few changes on my own pages as well.
October 31, 2004 Well I'm amazed if not shocked, a Google search has Biglizard on it's first page. It appears work on the Meta tags is starting to pay off. A new opinion piece supporting Kerry is now online under the rants and the slow crawl of progress takes hold.
October 12, 2004 Some updates including redoing the links page, 2 new rants and refining little tidbits here and there.
September 23, 2004 It's been a while since BigLizard got my attention. I put so much energy and time into web pages I went into full fledged burnt out. Today I pick up from before. This will be a more limited showing, parceling out in smaller bites to avoid burnout. I have a number of other projects in at hand as well to document and bring to the web.
June 15, 2004 After doing some homework (reading Homepage Usability, 50 Websites Deconstructed) I realized I need to redo several pages before creating even more pages. This will suck up a week at a minimum. On the plus side the new pages look better, are laid out more consistently and fit the browser window. This really is a process of learning on the run.
June 09, 2004 Renaming Cris's and BigLizard image pages to follow established file naming structure.
June 07, 2004 I put a new info index page up that I'll add to as occasion warrants. The FAQ and a page on internet fraud start the process.
June 01, 2004 Started putting up some nice art scans of turn of the century ships, 4 pages tonight.
May 31, 2004 I've decided to add a few more risqué links and wondering what content to put onsite. If there is anything I'm convinced of, it's that successful internet websites revolve on good content. It's been said that if you follow your interests in employment, you will succeed in your career. Well for better or worse, I'm going to start adding content in things I'm interested in.
May 28, 2004 The best laid plans of mice and men... Congrats Joe, it's your birthday, which means I've not gotten to the changes on the website.
May 23, 2004: After a few days off from tinkering with pages I'm ready to start again. Links page got some work.
May 17, 2004 It's confirmed, we need to rework server permissions to get the discussion groups working. As this is no minor task we are planning on doing it over the weekend.
May 16, 2004, Addition of discussion groups has me puzzled. I may need to reset some server permissions to get it going.
May 14, 2004, Modified file naming structure and renamed Dadzilla personal web pages. All personal pages will start with the owners initials. All Biglizard pages to start with initials BL to reduce confusion. Filename conversion in process.
May 13, 2004, Added this page and links, created Image page and 2 Yui file pages.
May 12, 2004, Crap! I previously created two directories, one to hold old pages as I update the site. I mistakenly uploaded the old pages over the new pages. I deleted the second directory and need to create a batch file to handle backups. Much work to be redone.
