A Little About Me

Just another average white guy.

I'm a guy... I like tech toys, my music loud, my trucks exhaust short. I ride a motorcycle, not a tee-shirt. My home is cluttered, not dirty. I like hooters and I'm not talking about a restaurant. I like cars, Anime, Sci-Fi and action movies, a good horror flick is great too. I only date the opposite sex. My son tells me this short description makes me sound like a bit of a redneck, in some ways I am. That said I prefer the company of a younger, collage aged crowd who are still interested in the world around them.

Though I was born in Columbia, Mo., My parents divorced when I was young, my mother remarried and my step father worked in NASA tracking stations. Eventually my stepfather went to work for McDonald Douglas. I spent most of my grade school days in the deep south and the St. Louis area. as you can guess, we moved a lot. As a troubled youth I eventually came to live with my father in Ashland Mo, a small rural town 15 miles to the south of Columbia where I now live.

Born: November 1957
Children: 2 boys, age 13 and 18
Common Nicks: Dadzilla, Wolfsong
Marital Status: two time survivor
Seeing Someone: Available, maybe.

Books: I read a lot. As a youth I was a Sci-Fi junkie though most of my reading as of late is political or how to books. Some favorite Books: Atlas Shrugged - Bill, The Galactic Hero - Hammer`s Slammers - Modern Manners - Ringworld - Roadmarks - Robots of Dawn -  The Hobbit/Lord of The Rings -  The Man who Walked through Time.

Computers: I've toyed with these boxes for a long time, from writing AD&D Dungeon Master aids for the Commodore 64 to building my sons computers. I ran a BBS for several years and with the death of the scene floated to UseNet. My newest chapter is the start of a web site and biglizard.org, as well as modding my own box.

Despise/Hate/Kill: Stupid singing scenes on Ally McBeal show - Insurance forms - Large Split-Frame Multi-Meg Web Pages with Java - Second ex-wife - Taxes and other Government forms - Waiting in line anywhere.

Exercise/Outdoors: Bike riding and fishing, in that order.

Games: DOOM (what kind of pussy doesn't like DOOM?) - Final Fantasy 7 & 8 - Grand Turismo - Ridge Racer 4 - Point Blank.

Gardening: Not really, other than a few tomato plants and Herbie the pineapple I haven't had much luck growing things.

Military Service: 3 Years as a 63N10 (Tank Hull Mechanic) in what was West Germany.

Movies: Ghost Dog - History of the World, Part 1 - Little Shop of Horrors (Steve Martin) - Lord of the Rings - Monty Python and the Holy Grail/Life of Brian - Mortal Combat - Snow Falling on Cedars - Star Wars - T2 - The Matrix - The Old Man and the Sea (Spencer Tracey) - The Rocky Horror Picture Show -  and almost anything Japanese Amine or Sci-Fi.

Music: I'm a music junkie and listen to about everything, picking stuff here and there, it's good or it isn't and there isn't much in between. Mostly late 60`s to the latest Alternative choices and jumping tracks to hit Country now and then. Favorite performers: 311 - AC/DC - Aerosmith - Alanis Morissette - Big Head Todd and the Monsters - Bob Dylan - Bruce Springsteen - Collective Soul - Enya - Everclear - George Thorogood - Heart - Jethro Tull - Johnny Cash - Neil Young - Pink Floyd - Rage Against the Machine - Rush - Sammy Hager - Ted Nugent - The Who - ZZ Top.

Pets: I like animals in general and prefer  low maintenance pets. Cats are my favorite, dogs and fish follow. I like horses but don't trust them. One of the cool pets are ferrets, who are a lot like cats in temperament. I don't get bird people.

Politics: I'm a fiscal conservative with a mixed bag of progressive and libertarian views.

Radio: Talk Radio and NPR, stations playing Hard Rock and Alternative together.

Religion: I am not a highly religious person in the sense of going to church or praying often. I believe there is a God, I just don't who or what He/She/It really wants of us. I don't get the whole mystery thing either.

Smoking: I don't smoke and don't mind if people smoke, your lungs, your problem. The only time I do mind is first thing in the morning.

TV Shows: Aqua Teens - DuckMan - Futurama - MST3K - Red Dwarf - South Park - Star Trek (love them all) - Space Ghost, Coast to Coast - The Red Green Show

Work: For a large college textbook service.

I've written a generous amount in the Usenet alt.support.divorce group. A Google groups search of ASD for Dadzilla or by my previous nick, Wolfsong will give you a much better feel for that story.
